Zendaya, between premieres and fake weddings: promotion of The Drama continues

Today The Drama, the new and highly anticipated film starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, arrives in theaters. This is a dark comedy that does not celebrate love like a classic rom-com but explores its more hidden sides, the ones we often tend not to show, both of ourselves and of our relationships. In the U.S. the film will be released on April 3, which is why the cast is still busy promoting it, and after also making stops in Rome, Zendaya returned to New York, where she participated in one of the country’s most celebrated talk shows, Good Morning America. Many topics were addressed by the actress: from movies to her private life, which – as it happens – right now revolves around a wedding. But not the one with Robert Pattinson on screen, but the one with Tom Holland in real life. Indeed, Zendaya during the talk show commented on the artificial intelligence-generated wedding pictures with her fiancé that went viral online, calling them “frighteningly realistic” and revealing that they “definitely misled some of my family and friends.”

But that’s not all, because the actress also anticipated what she will wear in upcoming appearances. With the support of her longtime stylist Law Roach, Zendaya is also bringing out one of the strongest premiere trends, method dressing, for this film, choosing to pay homage to an ancient wedding tradition that the bride should wear something old, something new, something borrowed, something given and something blue, to ward off bad luck. Over the course of the film’s red carpets, she has already sported something old – a white Vivienne Westwood gown first worn at the 2015 Oscars -, something new – a custom Louis Vuitton -, and something borrowed – a Giorgio Armani Privé that belonged to Cate Blanchett, who sported it at the 2025 Venice Film Festival and the 2022 SAG Awards. For the next photocall, Zendaya just revealed that it will be time for “something blue.” While we wait to find out the “gifted” piece as well, we enjoy her exiting the talk show studio in a Fall 2026 look by Erdem consisting of a structured tweed jacket with contrasting technical fabric inserts and a miniskirt enlivened by an explosion of feathers.
