What if your favorite cocktail became a perfume? KILIAN PARIS brings mixology to the world of perfumery

Our senses are interconnected, and together they allow us to experience the world beyond what reason alone can convey. They are what bring back a memory through a scent, allow us to relive a moment through a taste, and transform an experience into something deeply personal. Of all the senses, smell and taste share a particularly instinctive bond. Both have the power to evoke atmospheres, emotions, and memories, amplifying the way we perceive our surroundings. This is precisely why the world of cocktails lends itself so well to becoming an olfactory experience. A drink is never just what’s in the glass; it’s also the moment it’s served, the soft lighting of a bar, a conversation that drags on, a break from the hustle and bustle of the day. It’s a small ritual of pleasure and conviviality, capable of encapsulating an entire atmosphere in just a few sips. Transforming a cocktail into a fragrance, then, means trying to capture everything that happens around that moment: the taste, the mood, the place, and the memories and sensations that accompany it.

It is from this convergence of mixology and fine perfumery that *The Cocktails* was born—the new collection from KILIAN PARIS that brings three famous cocktails into the world of fragrances, transforming them into three wearable experiences. The new trilogy expands the universe of the Kilian Bar, alongside the The Liquors collection, which has already made its connection to the world of spirits one of its defining features. This vision is deeply rooted in the history of Kilian Hennessy, founder and Creative Director of the house, and today it goes even further, venturing into the realm of mixology to explore its creativity and its most sensory dimensions.

The journey begins in Paris, at aperitif time. It is here that we envision Sparkling Royal, inspired by the Kir Royal and built around that combination of freshness and sophistication that suits the French capital so well. Moroccan mint and Italian lemon give the composition a lively, effervescent opening, while wild black currant and Bulgarian rose soften its character. At the base, toasted Brazilian tonka bean and musks add warmth and depth, leaving a luminous, understated trail.

Then the light changes, and the scene shifts to Brazil. Piña Paraíso draws inspiration from the Piña Colada and that fleeting moment known as the golden hour, when the sun is about to set. Golden pineapple meets the essence of rum, introducing a composition that gradually becomes creamier, thanks to tropical coconut and a sunny frangipane accord. Madagascar bourbon vanilla and Brazilian tonka bean bring the story to a close with a warm, velvety softness, as if the light of the last rays of the sun had lingered on the skin.

When night falls, however, the pace changes. We’re in New York, in a dimly lit jazz club, with an Espresso Martini in hand. This is the atmosphere evoked by Midnight Espresso, the most intense and enveloping fragrance in the collection. Arabica coffee and rum essence open the composition with a bold character, while dark chocolate and toasted hazelnut accentuate its richer, more gourmand side. In the dry down, Madagascar bourbon vanilla and Siam benzoin create a soft, sensual trail—a promise of possibilities.

Three fragrances that capture three different ways of experiencing time: a Parisian aperitif, the golden slowness of a tropical afternoon, and the energy of a night in a metropolis. From Paris to Rio to New York, The Cocktails transforms mixology into an olfactory journey, proving once again just how closely linked taste and scent are.
