The Virgil Abloh Archive™ presents its World’s Fair in Los Angeles, marking a significant moment in the public dissemination of Virgil Abloh’s creative legacy. It is the launch of a new exhibition and programmatic format intended to travel internationally.
The Virgil Abloh Archive™ began as a collection that brings together materials from diverse fields: fashion, design, music, art and advertising, including original works, prototypes, sketches, digital media and ephemera. Added to these are items from Abloh’s personal collection and his library, offering a comprehensive look at his working methods and sources of inspiration. Privately managed and supported by Shannon Abloh, founder and CEO of Virgil Abloh Securities, the project comes to life with a series of public initiatives planned for fall 2025. The goal is not only to preserve Abloh’s creative legacy, but to make it accessible to scholars, creatives, and the public, transforming the archive into a living space for research and sharing.
The mission of the Virgil Abloh Archive™ is clear: to keep Abloh’s ideas alive. The archive is configured as an evolving organism, designed to deepen the understanding of his design thinking and foster new interpretations and developments of his insights. With this premise in mind, the archive therefore presents the World’s Fair, designed with an inaugural program at Architecture, a hybrid cultural space on Melrose Avenue, with a two-day event that includes talks with artists, screenings, workshops, and discussion moments dedicated to design, culture, and the creative process. Visitors will be able to explore book shelves, attend screenings, and participate in conversations that offer a firsthand look at the references and tools that have influenced Abloh’s world.
The initiative is not limited to Los Angeles: the World’s Fair is conceived as a traveling project intended to travel to major global cities, including Hong Kong, New York, London, Paris, Tokyo and Chicago, strengthening an international network of dialogue around its legacy.
