A true institution of Italian and international design, Nilufar Gallery-the gallery founded in 1979 by Nina Yashar-remains a fixed point of reference for Milan Design Week, a unique space where diverse creative energies converge to discover new languages related to the world of interiors. For the 2026 edition of the Salone del Mobile, the showroom at 32 Via della Spiga is staging Casa Magica, Nilufar’s new exhibition curated by Valentina Ciuffi and with creative direction by Studio Vedèt and installation by Space Caviar.
An exhibition that does not want to tell the story of the house in its purely living sense but to bring it back to its original meaning: a place that absorbs energies and emotions, fears, desires, rituals and attempts at protection. An exploration of the most archaic and ancestral dimension of living and the relationship between design, rituals and domestic symbols. The home beyond the rational then, but returning to confront what is not visible to the eyes, the unknown and the imagination that inhabit the human mind.
The objects on display are not mere quotations or references, but active presences that contribute significantly to the perception of the atmosphere of the house itself. Tapestries, metals and waxes, metallic and reflective surfaces, immersive settings that accompany the guest to unpredictable discoveries far beyond the material. Fifteen designers and artists in total collaborated on the exhibition. We find Sonia Górecka and her tapestries, conceived as a textile testimony of historical memory, Anita Morvillo’s lamp-sculptures, while the works of Kym Ellery, Filippo Carandini and AB+AC Architects narrate the sacredness of ritual. They are joined by works by Anna Zoe Hamm, Clara Schweers, Made By Astronauts, David Aliperti, Flora Manon, Davide Monaldi, Kym Ellery, Pauline Esparon, Emily Thurman, Etienne Marc, and Christian Pellizzari.
