Maybe we didn’t expect it either. But Madonna can do anything. Whether it’s on a stage, in her everyday life, inside a movie on the big screen or on a record. She is and always will remain the Queen of Pop. And so, in the general excitement after the release, yesterday Monday, June 8, 2026, of the film made in partnership with Dolce&Gabbana, “Confessions II – The Film,” which anticipates her latest album now close to release, attention also ended up on the many big names included in the scenes. Which ones? Well, certainly Sabrina Carpenter, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kate Moss, Odessa A’zion. But the list is very long and also includes two well-known names in the world of soccer: those of Cole Palmer and João Pedro of Chelsea.
A quick cameo, which most attentive soccer fans have noticed. But that it is not a random choice. Or at least, that’s how we’ve tried to interpret it, since in recent years the Queen of Pop has been getting closer and closer to one color specifically: blue. The one that coincidentally has been camping for decades on the first jersey of one of England’s most famous and successful teams: the Chelsea Football Club. Madonna often passes through London, in the company of her inseparable boyfriend Akeem Morris, who has been a footballer in the past, and has been seen several times in the stands following the Blues. Both at Stamford Bridge, where she has seen Palmer and his teammates play at home, and on “away” trips, as was the case recently for the Chelsea women’s team, which played at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.
A passion to show and also to wear. Because recently Madonna was the guest of a well-known British creator, Gymskin, on the Kick platform. And during the live show she unveiled, almost as a spoiler, just the new Chelsea uniform for next season. So it is not surprising to see the two Chelsea footballers during one of the scenes in the short film. For perhaps the color of Madonna’s heart is always more “blue.”
