Some summers start slowly, like a postcard waiting to be written, left on the table. The rustling of the pages of *Settimana Enigmistica*, the sun warming your skin, time slowing down. Taormina, the pearl of the Mediterranean, is exactly that: an invitation to pause, breathe, and look around. Summer, here, has a new address and smells of salt, golden light, and well-being. It’s called Liu Jo Summer Club, and it’s much more than a seasonal project: it’s an invitation to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and rediscover the pleasure of small rituals in some of the Mediterranean’s most iconic locations.
It was in Taormina that this journey began. On June 11, at Tao Beach, the magic took shape for the first time during an opening night that transformed one of Sicily’s most iconic locations into an experience to be savored. Liu Jo has taken over the beach club, transforming it into a natural extension of its aesthetic universe: custom-designed cabanas, refined details, and a relaxed atmosphere where fashion meets hospitality and leisure becomes an experience.

The guests arrived as the golden light of sunset bathed the scene and the sound of the waves filled the air: just enough time to leave the hustle and bustle behind and step into a more intimate realm, one of breath and presence. The breathwork workshop led by Licia Florio kicked off the evening, creating a moment of deep connection in which body and mind aligned with the natural rhythm of the place. Then the evening shifted gears, without ever losing its harmony. A dinner overlooking the sea, immersed in a breathtaking panorama, amid thoughtful details and lighthearted conversation. The music from the live DJ set began to fill the air, accompanying every moment with natural ease, like a soundtrack meant to linger. All around, Tao Beach reimagined by Liu Jo: corners to discover, perfect scenes to remember. And a special, intimate, almost ritualistic gesture: a personalized towel, embroidered live for each guest, to take home as a tangible fragment of this experience.
This is the vision of the Liu Jo Summer Club: experiencing summer as a series of moments to savor, filled with beauty, togetherness, and self-care. But the beating heart of the Taormina event is wellness. Not as a trend, but as a conscious choice: taking care of oneself, rediscovering harmony, and making time for oneself. The special evening on June 11 was, in fact, just the prelude to three full days—from June 12 to 14—during which the Liu Jo Summer Club offers a calendar of exclusive activities, open to the public on a limited basis by registration, designed to rejuvenate body and mind. Things kicked off in style on June 12 with two Pilates sessions led by Laura Grossi, a native of Rome now based in Dubai, known on social media for her spontaneous and playful approach to fitness, capable of making the workout an authentic, accessible, and deeply personal experience.

June 13 is dedicated to Booty Barre with Dolce di Ciaomondo, a studio founded by Licia Florio that combines physical movement and mental well-being. This practice blends elements of yoga, Pilates, and dance, designed to strengthen the body and free the mind, all at your own pace. At 4:00 PM, a charming seaside aperitif is on the agenda, also hosted by Liu Jo. To wrap up this series, on June 14, a Skincare Class with The Beauty Call: Erika Giuili, beauty expert and content creator, will guide guests on a journey through skincare, offering practical advice, authenticity, and a contemporary vision of beauty rooted in awareness and simplicity. The workshop is scheduled for 10:30 a.m., while another special Booty Barre class with Dolce di Ciaomondo is on the agenda for the afternoon. Exclusive special gifts are planned for each activity.
The takeover of Tao Beach will continue for a full month, offering everyone the chance to enjoy this experience beyond the wellness activities: relaxing by the sea, sipping a signature Liu Jo cocktail, letting yourself be inspired by the refined aesthetic, and taking unforgettable photos in a unique setting, inside custom-designed cabanas.

Taormina, universally regarded as one of the most exclusive destinations in Italian tourism, thus becomes the starting point of a summer itinerary that spans the Mediterranean. After Sicily, the Liu Jo Summer Club will head to Cannes, at Copal Beach, before concluding in Ibiza, at Nikki Beach. Three destinations, three atmospheres, a single common thread: experiencing summer as an authentic journey, filled with beauty, wellness, and freedom. And if it’s true that every journey begins with a first step, Liu Jo’s starts in Taormina, where the sea meets the sky and time, finally, slows down. What better way to start the summer than by starting with yourself?
