After years of waiting, changes, and a long creative process, Lana Del Rey is once again talking about *Stove*, the project fans have been eagerly awaiting for some time now and which finally seems to be nearing its final form. This journey began in early 2024, when the singer-songwriter announced a new album titled *Lasso*—a project that, however, never officially saw the light of day and continued to evolve over the months. On November 25, 2024, that title gave way to *The Right Person Will Stay*, before evolving once again into *Stove*, the album’s current name.
Now Lana Del Rey has decided to reveal what lies behind this long wait, sharing a reflection on social media about the journey that led to the creation of the album and a second side project. “So much has happened over the past four years—so much time waiting for things to fall into place, and so much time wondering if it was right that things were falling apart,” the artist wrote on Instagram. “Patience has been the key.”
The singer described how, during this time, she had new thoughts about old friendships, new dreams, and new perspectives. It was a process that also involved doubts, such as wondering whether what she had built would ever manage to grow: “From the doubt that the tree I had planted could grow, new shoots emerged, and so a new rosebush grew beneath the willow.”
Lana described *Stove* as “a great companion album,” created with the help of many people who supported her in gathering and shaping her thoughts on everything that was changing. “It’s so beautiful and complete, just as it was meant to be: a classic album, if I may say so,” she wrote, adding that many of the songs have already been performed on tour and heard by fans, though not all of them.
But the journey doesn’t end there. Alongside *Stove* will be a second album, created in the years that followed and conceived almost as a commentary on everything that happened. “A sort of reflection on everything that’s happened, on the patience that was required, and on the trust I had to have in realizing that not everything that wasn’t working was my fault,” she explained.
These two works are deeply connected to the singer’s personal and artistic growth; they emerged from what she initially thought would be a period filled solely with growth and joy, but which also came to include doubts, hope, and the realization that every new beginning often means starting completely from scratch. “They are two of my most beautiful works,” said Lana Del Rey, explaining that she still needs about a month to complete the project and release both albums on vinyl.
“When life decides to send you down another river, it’s not really your choice—it’s an adventure all its own,” she wrote. Now, after setting this long journey to music, Lana is ready to trust the process and let herself be carried along by the current. And to everyone she’s met along the way—those who waited with her for this moment and those whose paths have since diverged—she left a message in true Lana Del Rey style: “I’m so grateful to everyone who’s still on board with me.
