Today, in the face of a positive period for the health of the Princess of Wales, Kate is preparing to embark on her first business trip abroad since the announcement of her illness, choosing, for the occasion, to fly to Italy. As People reports, “The Princess considers the trip a fact-finding mission and will spend time learning more about Reggio Emilia’s internationally recognized approach to early childhood education. Seeing it as a ‘significant next step’ for her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood, Kate will meet with educators, parents, children, civic and business leaders to see the work in action, according to her office at Kensington Palace.”
“The Princess is looking forward to visiting Italy next week and seeing for herself how the Reggio Emilia approach creates environments where nature and loving human relationships come together to foster children’s development,” her spokesperson said in a note instead.
“As the Center for Early Childhood continues to develop its work internationally, this visit is an opportunity to connect the Shaping Us model with leading global approaches,” adds Kensington Palace, “and to underscore the common understanding that it is in these early years, through the natural world and the warmth of human contact, that we begin to lay the foundation for a healthy and resilient future.”
