A creepy wedding drama by Martin Scorsese, the film is based on the novel of the same name by Peter Cameron and, as reported by Variety, tells the story of an American couple who travel to a small European town to adopt a child.
According to the book’s official synopsis, “Nothing is as it seems in this bewildering and icy world, and the more the couple struggles to get the child adopted, the less they seem to know about their marriage, themselves and life.”
