A collision between two helicopters has resulted in six deaths: five aboard one helicopter and another person, the pilot, aboard the other. The website reports that the singer’s name is among the victims, with official confirmation from the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police.
This is heartbreaking news for the entire music world, of which Tree was one of the most prominent and creative figures, despite his young age. Born in Santa Cruz, Oliver Tree Nickell—his full name—was only 32 years old. He was in Brazil because he had performed on his tour on June 6, before heading to Europe, where he was scheduled to perform on July 1 in Lisbon. Tree was also scheduled to perform in Milan, at the Circolo Magnolia, on July 8, 2026.
