A few steps away from Piazza Affari, in the heart of historic Milan, Dimoregallery has opened its new showroom, after ten years spent in Via Solferino – still home to its offices – and the industrial space near the Central Station. We are in Via San Vittore al Teatro 1/3, an intimate but lively crossroads of the Milanese capital, and it is here that the creative duo formed by Emiliano Salci and Britt Moran – known as Dimorestudio – has taken over its new “home,” in a former bank complete with a vault, transformed into a key element of the entire space.
A sophisticated atmosphere in an environment that could be described as layered: in the 700-square-meter gallery, arranged on three levels, historical furnishings of great Italian designer design, Dimoremilano’s collections and those of Interni Venosta coexist. The layout envisions each element included as a function of a specific narrative, which builds a coherent dialogue between art and design.
The exclusive curatorial path includes references to the great masters of the Italian 20th century, such as Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Nanda Vigo and Mireille Rivier. But we also find collaboration with Cardi Gallery, with works by Jannis Kounellis and other 20th-century and contemporary artists. In one of the rooms, the furniture dialogues with an installation of bronze bamboo canes by Osanna Visconti. At the same time we also find special editions signed Dimorestudio.
This new opening consolidates Dimoregallery’s importance in its role as a curatorial platform between design and art, while at the same time helping to make the spaces open to the general public.
