Since Charles and Alexandra Leclerc were spotted in Cannes today, anticipation for the evening’s red carpet has been growing minute by minute. And the couple, who have been married for just under three months, certainly did not disappoint expectations on the second day of the Cannes Film Festival, at the presentation of the film A Woman’s Life.
At the Grand Théâtre Lumière Alexandra wore a dress by Paolo Sebastian, the same designer she chose for her wedding dress, with a sculpted silhouette. The line is that of a sinuous and flawless column, made even more theatrical by the play of transparencies and luminous embroideries that run across the entire surface of the dress. The nude, impalpable fabric creates a refined second-skin effect on which micro crystals, beads, and metallic appliqués reflect the light. The strapless bustier enhances the shoulders and décolleté with extreme neatness, while catching the eye are the undulating decorations that develop in horizontal bands along the skirt with precious, three-dimensional motifs reminiscent of the movement of waves and Art Deco-inspired embroidery. Charles, on the other hand, goes for classic, timeless elegance in a classic suit by Giorgio Armani: jacket with shawl lapels, white shirt, bow tie and patent leather lace-ups.
