What is it like to work closely with celebrities? We don’t know but maybe we can get an idea. Lately on social media, videos of Victoria Hiegel and others recounting their days as personal assistants have gone viral: between luxury shopping, assignments quite different from what people do in the office on a daily basis, and seemingly insane demands for a “normal” person. And although the glamour and the environments one finds oneself in exert a great deal of fascination on the public, it is a job in which organizational, diplomatic and stress-management skills are essential, as well as training, of course. Probably not a job for everyone.
Maximum attention also on private chefs, who create dishes worthy of at least one Michelin star in the private residences of their employers. It is a passion that combines the public’s love of good food and curiosity to enter the homes and daily lives – starting with the basics, namely food – of celebrities.
Activities once defined by discretion now become content and open an armored world to the public. Although for those directly involved, namely personal assistants, they represent an opportunity for visibility as well as earnings and contacts. For obvious reasons, they cannot reveal their employers, but they can tell certain assignments. Celebrity personal assistants, especially in the United States, are showing off their work days on social media and are themselves becoming little celebrities. Or at least social characters. Because, if we can’t really live the lives of celebrities, this is a way to at least get a little closer to the lifestyle that fascinates us so much. And who knows if one day, having achieved fame, they won’t also need personal assistants?
