An emotional tale that focuses on instability as a form of truth. This is how Rosalba Pippa, aka Arisa, described it, her first album in five years, the title of which fully represents the intent she had: to immortalize imperfection and difficulties, moving away from perfection. Not perfect shots, but blurry photos. Perhaps the most sincere ones, the most authentic, like her voice and her point of view, renewed with elegance and courage in the 14 songs she gave to her fans and to Italian music.
Arisa is back with a new album, released today, Friday, April 17, 2026, and this is the best news. Not that she ever left, because her artistic talent has always illuminated the Italian music scene.
But now she is approaching a new chapter in her artistic journey, which sees her for the first time also playing a leading role in songwriting, offering new nuances of her creative sphere and an additional point of view. We had already tasted a part of it at the 76th Sanremo Festival with “Magica Favola,” a song that conquered the Top 5 of the final and still continues to receive great approval from the public. But also with “Il tuo profumo,” the single that anticipated the new album, in which she tells about a toxic and contradictory love without filters.
Imperfect relationships, changing identities, and a constant oscillation between the need for love and the search for self. It is not easy to put yourself on the line in life, let alone in such an exposed career in the musical universe. But Arisa, with her personal and direct narrative, exposes herself in the first person, going through contradictions. Living them, even without having concrete solutions. Dealing with delicate and intimate themes.
In “Universal Love” he reflects on love as pretense and sacrifice, while in “Wind in Your Arms” he takes us on a lonely escape to Maratea, which becomes the symbol of a newfound autonomy. In “Wouldn’t I Miss You” it is the refrain that takes center stage, where the denial of “won’t I miss you” collides with the memory of what is lost. In “Wuthering Heights,” on the other hand, an agitated inner landscape emerges, where tears hide and thoughts intertwine with restless dreams.
These are just some of the songs in which Arisa is at the center of her musical universe, right from the conception and writing of her latest project. Her signature is present in all the songs as a songwriter and/or composer, shaping a coherent and deeply personal narrative, with a direct but layered language capable of transforming intimate experiences into universal narratives.
Credit is also due to the collaboration of Mamakass – namely Fabio Dalè and Carlo Frigerio – who contributed significantly to defining the album’s sonic imprint, along with authors such as Giuseppe Anastasi, Dimartino and Galeffi.
Songs that will also be at the center of Arisa’s live path, a protagonist in the coming months with a series of appointments throughout Italy: as early as May with the premiere dates in Rome and Milan (already sold out), and then continuing during the summer (from Mestre on June 13 until September 6, 2026 in Macerata) and in the fall with a tour in theaters.
