Adrian Appiolaza Steps Down as Creative Director of Moschino

After much speculation, confirmation has finally arrived. The announcement came from Moschino, as reported by MFF, which announced the end of its collaboration with Adrian Appiolaza. The newspaper, which had reported on the rumors in recent days, explains that the brand and the designer have decided to end their working relationship by mutual agreement after two years.

“I was given a great opportunity: the chance to express my creativity for a major Italian brand with an incredible creative legacy. I would like to express my gratitude to Aeffe for this opportunity, especially to Massimo Ferretti, and I thank the entire creative team with whom I shared this intense experience,” Appiolaza said, as reported again by MFF.

Aeffe President Massimo Ferretti and the entire brand also expressed their gratitude to Appiolaza for his dedication over the past two years. The now former creative director of Moschino had taken over in 2024, following the untimely passing of Davide Renne on November 10, 2023.

It was on January 30, 2024, that his name was announced as the successor at the helm of the Italian fashion house. Having previously served as design director for Loewe’s ready-to-wear line alongside Jonathan Anderson, and before that in the same role at Chloé with Clare Waight Keller, a new chapter is now beginning for Appiolaza and the brand. Moschino has already indicated that the name of his successor will be announced in the coming weeks.
