A never-ending story in Red: Charles Leclerc will still be Ferrari’s driver

With a post and a press release, Scuderia Ferrari HP has dissolved the reservations and doubts of millions of fans, confirming a piece of the Maranello brand’s future project: Charles Leclerc will continue to wear the colors of the team in the upcoming seasons of the Formula 1 World Championship. This news confirms the continuity of a relationship built over time that has become as central to Ferrari as it has to Leclerc, well before his Formula 1 debut.

As stated on the Scuderia’s website, Charles joined the Driver Academy in Maranello in 2016, building his racing career together with the Prancing Horse: “From the Formula 2 title he won in 2017 to his debut in Formula 1 the following year, to his arrival at Scuderia Ferrari in 2019. Since then Charles has become a central presence for the team, standing out for his speed, talent and competitive spirit.” Debut then showcased Leclerc’s talent time and time again, with wins, poles and podiums that put him in the hearts of fans. In fact, at 28 years old, Leclerc is already the second Ferrari driver in terms of the number of races he has driven in Formula 1 and pole positions, behind only Michael Schumacher.

“I could not be happier to continue the journey with Scuderia Ferrari HP, which for me is much more than a team. It is the team that I have always loved and dreamed of being a part of since I was a child and which, after all these years, has become a second family for me. Together we have shared incredible moments and more difficult ones, but I believe more than ever in the Scuderia and I am deeply grateful to be able to continue fighting for our common goal, which is to bring the world title back to Maranello. Being a Ferrari driver is a dream, but also a responsibility that is never to be taken for granted: I will continue to give my all to bring the Scuderia back to where it deserves to be, which is at the top, for all those who work at Maranello and especially for the fans, who with their passion are its beating heart,” Leclerc says in Ferrari’s press release.

Important words, to which are added those of Frédéric Vasseur, Team Principal of the scuderia: “Charles has been part of the Ferrari family for many years now and this renewal is something very natural for us. In these seasons we have seen the growth of not only one of the strongest drivers in Formula 1, but also a person who deeply lives the bond with this team and everything Ferrari stands for.”
