While *The Odyssey* rakes in millions upon millions at the box office and audiences continue to debate what Homer would have thought had he seen Christopher Nolan’s adaptation, there’s no time for controversy. It’s still promotion season, this time in the East—more specifically in Beijing, China—the setting for the film’s premiere featuring part of the cast. From the ever-present Nolan, who celebrated his 56th birthday today, to Matt Damon and, above all, Charlize Theron. The actress inevitably won everyone over once again with her numerous looks throughout the day. From the cream-colored silk mini suit for the photocall, —a one-piece ensemble featuring a top with open puff sleeves that cinches at the waist, then flares out into loose-fitting short shorts—paired with black heels and a long black ribbon wrapped around her neck that cascades down her back from a bow.
Right down to the dress in which she reinterprets the “goddess” style—with structured shoulders and completely covered in long gold-colored fringes—for the premiere at the China National Film Museum, a look that reveals her endless legs sheathed in sheer black tights. But it was a very long day for Charlize, and she also showed off a sensual yet architectural look on another red carpet, where she chose a black lace creation by Givenchy by Sarah Burton, with a plunging neckline defined by silver-toned trim and a distinctive accordion-pleated skirt that adds dynamism to the ensemble, while the stiletto sandals serve as an uncompromising weapon of seduction. She rounded out the evening with a simple yet striking all-black ensemble during the Q&A, proving once again that Charlize, no matter the look, always knows how to captivate us.
