One of the most anticipated watches, especially in the Eastern market, has finally been released online: the Otsuka Lotec No. 8. Otsuka Lotec, one of Japan’s most interesting independent brands, has just unveiled a completely new and unique rectangular watch with a retro-futuristic design: the No. 8. This timepiece boasts a custom rectangular case and a special side glass that allows you to watch the movement in action. Featuring mesmerizing complications such as jumping hours and retrograde minutes, driven by a flywheel, this watch is truly a marvel of mechanics.
The No. 8 is powered by a Miyota 90S5 automatic movement, enhanced by 62 components, with 33 jewels and 3 ball bearings. The watch offers a water resistance of 30 meters and a power reserve of 32 hours.
Made of 316L stainless steel with a linear satin finish, the watch measures 31 mm wide and 9.8 mm thick, with a lug-to-loop distance of 47.8 mm. The piece also features a custom double anti-reflective treated crystal that showcases all the internal moving components and is paired with a 24 mm rubber strap.
With a price of 990,000 yen (US$6,270 including tax), No. 8 will soon be available for purchase through a lottery on the official Otsuka Lotec website, reserved for residents of Japan.
