Next May 13, 2026, the international fashion spotlight will be on Los Angeles. It is here that Dior will present its Cruise collection, the first signed by Jonathan Anderson, and today WWD unveiled the official location of the event: the LACMA, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
The parade will take place against the backdrop of the museum’s new extension, the David Geffen Galleries, designed by Swiss architect and Pritzker Prize winner Peter Zumthor. The building, set to become one of the city’s new cultural landmarks, will be inaugurated on April 19, 2026, with an official ceremony, followed by two weeks of members-only access before opening to the public scheduled for early May.
The choice of LACMA confirms the increasingly close ties between Dior and Los Angeles, a city symbolic of cinematic imagery and contemporary glamour. A relationship that the fashion house further strengthened last year with the opening of the flagship store on Rodeo Drive, designed by American architect Peter Marino.
It is no coincidence that Dior continues to intertwine its history with that of Hollywood: in fact, many of its ambassadors and muses are stars of the silver screen, from Jennifer Lawrence to Mikey Madison to Michelle Yeoh, all of whom have chosen Dior for their most iconic moments, including Oscar night, where they walked the red carpet in looks from the fashion house.
This choice is also part of a broader context in which luxury fashion is increasingly oriented toward the U.S. market. This is also evidenced by the moves of other major brands: Gucci, for example, has been a historical partner of LACMA’s annual gala since its inception in 2011, while Louis Vuitton will present its Cruise 2027 collections in New York on May 20, confirming the fashion houses’ growing focus on the United States as a privileged stage for global events.
