Instagram is updating one of the most recognizable elements of its visual identity. The announcement was made today, August 13, 2026, by Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, who unveiled the app\u2019s new wordmark and explained that the previous one had not been updated for about ten years. It is not a new logo in the strict sense, but rather a refinement of an element that millions of users see every day at the top of the interface. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cThe wordmark at the top of the app hadn\u2019t changed in 10 years, so it was time to refresh it,\u201d Mosseri said, explaining the new design: \u201cIt\u2019s cleaner and more modern, with nods to the original and to the simplicity and attention to detail that have always set Instagram apart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n
