You can book one of the suites and spend the night inside an art installation, enjoying an experience you won\u2019t find anywhere else. Even if you\u2019re not staying at the hotel, you can still join the daily guided tours, during which you can explore the sculpture-rooms when they\u2019re not occupied. The art continues in the common areas and in the park overlooking the sea, where sculptures and installations by some of the most important figures in Italian contemporary art are on display. Here you\u2019ll also find *Monumento per un poeta morto* (Monument to a Dead Poet), better known as *Finestra sul Mare* (Window on the Sea), a monumental work by Tano Festa that frames the Mediterranean landscape, transforming it into part of the artwork itself. <\/p>\n\n
The Atelier sul Mare is just one piece of a much broader cultural project conceived by Antonio Presti: the Fiumara d’Arte. Established in 1982, it is one of Europe\u2019s largest open-air museums and stretches along a route of about seventy kilometers through the municipalities of Castel di Lucio, Mistretta, Motta d\u2019Affermo, Pettineo, Reitano, and Tusa, in the Messina area.Scattered along this route are twelve monumental works of land art and contemporary sculpture, created by Italian and international artists and seamlessly integrated into the natural landscape. Presti\u2019s vision was to create a permanent dialogue between art, the local area, and nature, transforming the entire river valley into a museum without walls. <\/p>\n\n
