Winner of the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading<\/a> Role thanks to his role in Sinners, on the Italian night that just ended Michael B. Jordan took the stage at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to accept the coveted award and give, as usual, a speech of thanks addressed to his loved ones and all those who stood by him in his run up to this very important goal.<\/p>\n\n

Nominated alongside Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet for Marty Supreme, Leonardo DiCaprio for One Battle After Another, Ethan Hawke for Blue Moon, and Wagner Moura for The Secret Agent, the actor showed all his emotion, addressing his first thoughts after the win to God, his parents, and his siblings.<\/p>\n\n

“God is good, God is good,” Michael indeed stated on stage, “Hey mom, how are you doing? My mom and dad are here. Hey dad, where are you? My daddy is here from Ghana. My brother and sister are here, my family.”<\/p>\n\n

“I want to thank Warner Bros.” the actor then continues, “I want to thank Mike and Pam for believing in this dream, this vision of Ryan Coogler (who directed and co-produced Sinners, ed.) and for betting on a culture, on original ideas and original art. You [Coogler] are an extraordinary person, truly extraordinary. I am honored to be able to call you a collaborator and a friend. You have given me an opportunity and a space to make myself known. I love you brother. I love you dearly.”<\/p>\n\n

“I would like to thank all my incredible cast. Wunmi (Mosaku), thank you so much for giving Smoke (one of his two characters in Sinners, ed.) the opportunity to be himself. Hailee [Steinfeld], back home she is preparing to have a baby. Thank you so much for being the other half of Stack. Miles, Delroy, Jayme, Li Jun Li, everyone, the whole cast. Thank you for the support.”<\/p>\n\n
