With the weekend that has just ended, Milano Design Week came to a close, a kermis packed with appointments, events and installations that confirms, once again, how much this moment has become an indispensable pillar of the city and international calendar. And the numbers speak for themselves. As reported by La Repubblica, the Salone del Mobile in Rho exceeded 316,000 visitors, registering +4.5 percent compared to 2025. Most striking is the strong international presence: 68 percent of operators come from abroad, with as many as 167 countries represented. A result built over time, thanks to constant work to promote the city as the global capital of design. <\/p>\n\n
On the Fuorisalone front, the most dynamic and widespread soul of the week, attendance is instead estimated at around 500,000 people. The figure, elaborated by the official website, takes into account more than 1100 events out of a total of about 1300 appointments. Here, too, the international component is dominant: 63 percent of visitors come from outside Italy, confirming the global appeal of the event. <\/p>\n\n
Good news for the hospitality sector as well. According to Federalberghi surveys, the trend remains in line with last year, with peak occupancy between 90 percent and 95 percent recorded between Wednesday and Thursday. Overall admissions are up, following the trend of the show, while the economic supply chain, according to Confcommercio estimates, is around 255 million euros, marking a 14.5 percent increase over 2025. <\/p>\n\n
Also driving the attention were some of the most visited installations. The circuit curated by Interni recorded rising numbers: the Universit\u00e0 Statale welcomed 275,000 visitors (up from 250,000 last year), the Brera Botanical Garden went from 50,000 to 57,000 attendees, while the Audi Portrait installation, designed by the Zaha Hadid studio, reached 170,000 visitors compared to 150,000 in 2025. Some venues, such as the Botanical Garden and the Statale, will remain open until Thursday, effectively extending the experience beyond the official week. Official data are missing, however, for some of the Fuorisalone’s iconic areas, such as Porta Venezia, the Cinque Vie and Brera, the latter the undisputed queen in terms of attendance and social visibility, with over 320 proposals and more than 200 showrooms involved. <\/p>\n\n
