This weekend, all eyes will be on Monza, where Formula 1’s most beloved drivers will compete on the Italian circuit in one of the season’s most anticipated races. And to mark the home Grand Prix, Ray-Ban and Scuderia Ferrari have chosen to celebrate the connection between motorsport and style with a new special edition that draws directly on the 1990s and one of the most iconic figures in Formula 1 history: Michael Schumacher.
Unveiled today, September 1, 2026, via a video posted on the brand’s social media channels, the new creation blends the Scuderia’s heritage with the racing aesthetic of that era, reinterpreting it through Ray-Ban’s unmistakable style.
The design incorporates some of the most recognizable elements of racing eyewear: a slim metal frame, wraparound lenses, and a double bridge that evokes the classic teardrop silhouette. The iconic red of Scuderia Ferrari is reflected in the red-to-gray gradient lenses, adding a bold pop of color to a silhouette that’s retro in character yet still extremely contemporary. The special edition is available in two versions: Glossy Gunmetal, with purple polarized lenses, and Glossy Silver, with blue polarized lenses.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, the two Scuderia Ferrari drivers, are the faces of the campaign, embodying an aesthetic that looks to the past but speaks directly to the present of Formula 1. And Leclerc himself has dropped a small hint about the upcoming events. In Ray-Ban’s Instagram Stories, the driver invited fans to join him in Milan, at Palazzo Reale, on Wednesday, September 2, 2026. What will happen? For now, it remains a mystery. But we’ll find out very soon.
